Family Trip to Liverpool

While Jinny’s family came over to visit us in the UK for the wedding, we had planned a few domestic trips.

The highlight was definitely our visit to Liverpool and especially to Anfield Stadium.

Despite Jinny’s brother having never been to England, or being born thousands of miles away, he is a MASSIVE Liverpool F.C fan. Like seriously.

So we thought that there was no way that we couldn’t let him come to the U.K without going to his holy ground of Anfield.

Easy Hotel

For our accomodation we had decided to go to the very reasonably priced, Easy Hotel. Honestly speaking it was great for the price!! Nothing to complan about and the rooms were clean as well as beds comfy. What more could you want!?

Also being in the centre of town, we could easily find a taxi to get us to the stadium. We first loaded up on subway sandwiches and coffee, then headed off towards Anfield. It’s was about a 20min ride from the centre.

Anfield Stadium Tour

We had decided to book the LFC Stadium Tour and the LFC Story for the whole family. Essentially it is an audio guided tour of the stadium which you can do at your own pace. You also get access into the museum which is next to the stadium and has on display their trophies as well as other historic items.

All together it generally takes around two hours. We spent in total three hours at the grounds! The tour was fantastic. Even for a none LFC fan, the tour was so well done with their interactive audio tour, that there wasn’t a dull moment. Also learning about the history of the club, players and even stadium itself was interesting.

The museum too had on display a lot of their famous players history as well as the recent achievements of the club, and tragedies of the past. Finally their is a super store too where you can buy anything you need as a LFC fan. We were able to get her brother their official away strip and have his name put on too.

The highlight was seeing Jinny’s brother’s reaction though, as a life long LFC fan, it was a dream come true. For us to see someone enjoy so much was also a great gift.

Korean Food!

You can take a family out of Korea, but you can’t take Korea out of a family! Yes, it was our daily Korean food time. After leaving Anfield we head back into back into the city centre to a restaurant called Ban Di Bul.

The food was good. We all got a different kind of Korean ‘Bento’ and we all ate everything. Which is always a good sign. However the service was terrible. Especially one staff that wouldn’t serve us as it ‘wasn’t her table’ and was honestly pretty useless. So while we would recommend going, don’t expect the best service.

Italian for Tea

We shopped around Liverpool town centre for a while before my family turned up later in the evening. We decided to all go for Italian, as it’s always a safe choice.

We had booked into The Italian Club Restaurant.

Wow. This place was amazing. Very authentic. Maybe even family run. But the sharing platter, pizza and pasta, everything was delicious and fresh. The beer and wine were going down very well too!! We wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Highly recommended.

Before heading off to our luxury accommodation we decided to have one last drink at McGuffie & Co.

It was a nice bar with one of the oldest shop fronts in Liverpool. They have a massive range of cocktails and drinks. A place with a lot of history and worth a look for anyone visiting close by!
